Best P2P Lending Platforms In Europe

Best P2P Lending Platforms

#1 – Mintos

As expected, Mintos receives the crown as being the best peer-to-peer lending platform in Europe along with being my personal favorite. There is simply no way around Mintos if you decide to invest in p2p lending. They are by far the biggest platform not only by the sheer number of loans but also by the number of loan originators they work with. It has the best diversification, functionality, and reporting. They have financed well over 2 billion worth of loans so far. I have been using them since January 2018 and I have returns well over 12%.

I couldn’t recommend Mintos enough and if you are just starting with peer-to-peer lending this is the way to go. I have also tried withdrawing a small amount as a test and it was fast and easy. In Mintos, you can invest in loans with rates as high as 14% but don’t forget to diversify among many originators to spread the risk and don’t be afraid to buy loans with lower rates for the sake of security. I personally stick with rates between 11% and 13%.

Mintos Pros

  • High Rates (Up to 15.1% with buyback guarantee)
  • Largest Platform
  • Unparalleled Diversification opportunity
  • Almost all their loans come with buyback guarantee (currently, only 137 out of 350,000 without the guarantee)
  • Minimum investment only 10€

Mintos Cons

  • Some of the loans come without buyback guarantee but they are very limited and not a real issue. (I just had to put something on the “con” list)

Mintos just informed me that from 18.11.2019 the signup bonus for new investors will 0.5% instead of 1%. This affects all referral links from all websites.

#2 – Lendermarket

Lendermarket is the newest platform in the bunch. However, Lendermarket is a subsidiary of Creditstar group that has been around since 2006. It is a very successful loan company with branches and operating in many different counties. The platform started offering rates at 12% but has recently increased that to 14%. They are also offering a 1% cashback for any investments made during the first 60 days.

Lendermarket Pros

  • Run by a group that has been around for a while and has proven it can weather a financial crisis
  • High Rates
  • Simple to use
  • All loans came with buyback guarantee
  • Minimum investment only 10€

Lendermarket Cons

  • All loans from the same originator

Best P2P Lending Platform

#3 – ViaInvest

ViaInvest comes fourth in this competition. All four loan originators on the platform come from the same mother company called VIA SMS Group. For some people that is a turnoff but when the company is this profitable in the markets that it is operating in I can’t complain too much. The company posted an operating profit of over 9.1 million euros for 2018 up from 6.2 million in 2017 while improving its balance sheet.

The rates offered by the platform are at a fixed 12%. As you can see, ViaInvest doesn’t offer such high rates as Mintos or Grupeer but it still made the list for the reasons presented above. Most of the loans on the platform are

ViaInvest Cons

  • Lower interest than its competitors

#4 – RoboCash

I was contemplating whether I should give the last position in this list to PeerBerry or Swaper but I decided to go with RoboCash. I decided to with RoboCash because it provides better rates than PeerBerry and more transparency than FastInvest. The platform operates only through their “robot investor” meaning that you can only invest through auto-invest but it actually works great since all loans have rates equal to 12% and manual picking is pointless as all of them are short term.

RoboCash Front Page

RoboCash Pros

  • All loans come with buyback guarantee
  • Simple to use
  • 12% fixed rate for all loans
  • Minimum investment only 10€

RoboCash Cons

  • Only auto-invest (no manual investing, that can be a “pro” for some people)

Best Business CrowdLending Platform

Crowdestor

Crowdestor is the best business crowdlending platform right now. Their yields are high and loan performance is great. They have a zero default rate but it is still a relatively new platform to draw any conclusions from this. They also have a buyback fund but it is rather small compared to the number and amount of outstanding loans currently on the platform.

Crowdestor Pros

  • Very attractive yields (Up To 21%)
  • Cashback campaign for new investors
  • Interesting projects
  • Great loan performance
  • Fairly Liquid
  • Minimum investment only 50€

Crowdestor Cons

  • Small buyback fund

Best Real-Estate CrowdLending Platforms

#1 – CrowdEstate

CrowdEstate is the leader in this category. It provides the best rates, track record, a secondary market and it was established in January 2014. The only issue with the platform is the same one that I have with Envestio, loans are funded extremely quickly and that gives a chance to some investors to take advantage of the low liquidity and flip the loans for an astronomical premium. Lately, they are introducing projects more regularly.

CrowdEstate Home Page

CrowdEstate Pros

  • Great track record since January 2014
  • Very attractive yields (Around 15-16%)
  • Interesting projects
  • Secondary market

CrowdEstate Cons

  • No buyback guarantee (As usual with real-estate crowdlending)
  • Low liquidity.
  • Some investors take advantage of the low liquidity and sell their loans to the secondary market at an astronomical premium.

#2 – BulkEstate

BulkEstate is talking the second place vs CrowdEstate because it offers the same features as CrowdEstate apart from the secondary market and that is very important in my book. The platform was established in December 2016 and it has a very good track record and offers high rates too.

BulkEstate Front Page

BulkEstate Pros

  • Great track record
  • Very attractive yields (Around 15-16%)
  • Interesting projects
  • Minimum investment in a single loan is 100€

BulkEstate Cons

  • No buyback guarantee (As usual with real-estate crowdlending)
  • Low liquidity
  • No secondary market
  • Minimum investment in a single loan is 100€

#3 – EstateGuru

The third place on the list is occupied by EstateGuru. The reason is that the yield offered by its competitors is lower. It has a great track record and no funds have been lost in any project on the platform. The platform was established in December 2014

EstateGuru Home Page

EstateGuru Pros

  • Great track record (Since established in 2014)
  • Interesting projects
  • Cashback offer to sign up
  • Minimum investment only 50€

EstateGuru Cons

  • Lower yields than its competitors (Around 10-12%)
  • No secondary market

    1. Hello Anon, Housers has an average annual yield of 7.50% which is not enough for me to invest at this point. I have also read some not so good things about the platform so I will steer clear, at least for now.

  1. Liquidity means the possibility of liquidating, i.e., selling the investment and turning it back into cash. In this sense, Envestio has high liquidity, because you can sell the investment back to them instantly with a 5% fee. Crowdestor has no liquidity because you have wait until maturity in order to cash out an investment.

  2. Hi,
Can you please give us a review of Debitum network. Although they’re relatively new to the p2p scene, i’m intrigued to know your thoughts.
